High blood pressure can be a silent disease i.e. you can have no symptoms even if you have high blood pressure. If left untreated, high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, vascular disease and kidney failure. The only way of knowing if there is a problem is to have your blood pressure measured.
Early detection of high blood pressure and irregular heartbeat means you can be treated and prevent stroke or heart attack. All adults should have their blood pressure checked at least every five years.
We have a Microlife 24-hour blood pressure monitor in store which you can rent and wear for 24 hours. This monitor will measure your blood pressure over a 24-hour period and will detect high blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat.
We will give you full instructions about how to use the monitor. (It is quite simple to use) When you return the monitor, one of our pharmacists will analyse your results and explain them fully to you. The total cost of renting the monitor and getting your results analysed is €40.
